A look at the LFA interior
The 2010 Lexus LFA is difficult to describe, you just have to see it with your own eyes. Accented all over with carbon fiber and hand assembled to the last detail, this car does everything but fly, and if your definition of flying is 200 mph round the track then it can even do that! Lexus Palatine customers will want to slip behind the wheel of this machine.
The interior is like none I’ve ever seen with hand-stitched leather (of course) and some incredible technology integrated into the dash – the speedometer and all the other gauges are virtually virtual. The control screen above the console, which gives visuals of audio and climate control systems, etc., has been upgraded from a touch-screen to operation with a joystick for safety reasons. Palatine Lexus dealers love this new innovation.
This concept roadster has been redesigned a couple of times since being introduced at an auto show in 2005. There’s not much left to improve. The bottom of the vehicle has been flattened to increase aerodynamics and the rear spoiler is retractable. Dual radiators are rear mounted and help cool the LFA after a few quick laps. A triple exhaust, centered high in the rear in the shape of a pyramid ups the cool factor significantly.
Dealers of Chicago used Lexus vehicles will want to check out this new model just to say they’ve seen it. A smooth ride is guaranteed in the LFA with the addition of double wishbone suspensions in front and a multilink setup in the rear. The state-of-the-art braking system consists of six-piston calipers Brembo carbon ceramic brakes up front and four-piston in the rear.
Buyers of Lexus in Palatine will not want to miss this model. Composed mostly of carbon-fiber composite, Lexus LFA weighs in at 3,260 pounds and is powered by a 4.81 V-8 engine, creating 553 hp at 8,700 rpm. Paired with a six-speed automated sequential gearbox with four driving modes and a seven-stage shift-speed selector, this supercar is a blast to handle.
And if you happen to have an extra $400,000 sitting around you might want to pick one up for Sunday afternoons at the track. Chicago used Lexus buyers will certainly appreciate this recreational aspect.
The LFA is not yet ready for production, but should be available by the end of this year. Still, if you visit your Palatine Lexus dealer they will be glad to take your order.
