Lexus LFA V10 Among the Fastest Cars Out There
There are cars, and there are really amazing cars. When you’re done thinking about all of those, let’s turn our attention to something truly incredible: a Lexus supercar that’s about to embarrass vehicles not named Ferrari or Porsche or Lamborghini. It’s the new Lexus LFA V10, expected to hit selected showrooms at the end of the year, and Geneva Lexus dealers will be lucky if they see even one of these amazing vehicles because only 500 of them are going to be made.
This is a smoking hot vehicle that jumps from zero-to-sixty in under 3.7 seconds. It’s 4.8-liter V10 engine packs a ridiculous 553 horsepower, with speeds topping out at 202mph. Those are speeds that make even the Looney Tunes roadrunner jealous.
In Chicago, used Lexus cars may be what makes dealers the most money, but one sale of a LFA would net a lucky seller about $375,000, and that’s just the sticker. Imagine letting that sucker appreciate a little bit and selling it to a collector who wants of piece of the exclusivity and mechanical muscle that such a vehicle provides. It’s all about supply and demand with a vehicle like this, even though there might not be a ton of people out there willing to pay for a car worth more than double most of our mortgages.
Still, if a buyer wanted this vehicle badly enough they’d find a way to make the payments. Looking at this super-car, which clearly was designed to compete with the flashiest of top-caliber luxury racing vehicles, you can’t help but think of a futuristic looking arrowhead or some sort of missile. The engine screams and roars like it was rearing for a NASCAR race, but it’s sensible and stylish enough to stay classy. If you’re looking for this particular Lexus, Geneva dealers can do their best to find one for you, but let’s face it—with only 500 made worldwide it’s going to be tough. Chicago should be a big enough market to sniff at a handful of these vehicles, but the super-fast LFA isn’t going to be easy to get a hold of. That’s the whole point of manufacturing a limited run; keep the demand up and make those who can afford it feel special for laying down the cash. Plus, how many vehicles would they really expect to sell at almost $400,000 a pop?
It might not be for all of us, but even we middle-class citizens can dream. Deep down we all want the fastest cars, and the Lexus LFA V10 is among the fastest of them.
