Lexus motor event in NJ for the true Lexus enthusiast
On April 29th Lexus USA held the F-sport event at the New Jersey Motor Park. Lexus enthusiasts came from all over to attend the event and possibly win a test drive of the LFA with the legendary Scott Pruett. The event featured the all new Lexus LFA, one of only 500 units that will EVER be made. The atmosphere was intense while Lexus lovers watched the demos and a handful actually experienced how this 552 horsepower car really handled. With top speeds of over 200 miles per hour, 4.8L, V-10 engine this car is a force to be reckoned with! Chicago Lexus GX drivers that attended the event were thoroughly impressed with the features and the fact that this truly will be a limited edition vehicle.
Lexus began taking applications in October 2009 for a chance to purchase one of these extreme luxury vehicles. Official LFA production commences in December 2010 at the LFA Works facility in Toyota City, Japan. Only 20 hand-built LFA supercars will be produced each month for 25 consecutive months for a maximum of 500 vehicles being made available for worldwide retail sale. Lexus is beginning the base price at around $350,000 not including any taxes, fees, or additional customization, of course.
Lexus is not offering this model to any Chicago Lexus RX dealers because of how limited the availability is, but some Lexus drivers were lucky enough to experience this once in a lifetime encounter at the Motor Show in New Jersey last month.
The LFA wasn’t the only car test-driven at the show, the Lexus IS-F was also showcased. While not as fast as the LFA supercar, it is a more realistic alternative for Chicago Lexus RX drivers. The Lexus IS F high-performance sedan is the first production model to bear the brand’s ‘F’ mark. One may wonder what the “F” stands for in regard to the 2010 Lexus IS-F. The official explanation relates to the company’s internal code for its first flagship Lexus model, the LS 400. But all you really need to know is that this is one ferociously fast four-door.
The 2010 Lexus Motor Event in New Jersey showcased several of their sporty cars and left Lexus enthusiasts drooling over the Lexus LFA. Lexus owners traveled hundreds of miles to catch a glimpse of the LFA and say it was “well worth the drive” to experience the event first hand.
